These intricate ceramic plant hangers are handcrafted by Northeast Ohio artist Carrie Adams Smith. They are specially designed for air plants (tillandsias) and mini orchids, or any other small plant that can rest in the basin. Each is individually wheel-thrown from porcelain or red earthenware, and strung with hemp cording and beads.
There are no drainage holes in the planter. We recommend hanging indoors so plants are not blown out of the basin by wind. Adding sand to the basin creates a nice bed for the plants.
Plants are not included.
About our Gallery Artist: Carrie Adams Smith of Kendall Hills Clay Studio
"My pottery work is a daily meditation and sacred exercise to maintain my center. My passion for carefully crafted objects for use in the home has led me to look to historical pottery for inspiration. Creative influences have come from many cultures, fellow potters and life. I hold a deep respect for the skill, persistence, and allowing of the creative process as it unfolds. My pots are ever-evolving and seldom repeated, for this is the nature of the individual character of each piece as it transforms from a ball of clay and emerges from the fire of the kiln. Care, work experience of 40 years, and positive spirit go into their making. I sincerely hope you enjoy this authentic and unique piece of pottery from my Peninsula, Ohio studio."
